Guangzhou Dongfang Hotel is the flagship property of the “Lingnan Dongfang Hotel” brand under LingnanHoldings (SZ000524). Construction began in 1958 as one of the three key projects designated by PremierZhou Enlai to mark the 10th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The hotelofficially opened on October 11, 1961, and became China’s first state-owned five-star hotel.
